My Journey
As an immigrant and engineer by training, I understand what it means to build a career in the United States from the ground up.
After earning my B.S. in Electrical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University, I worked as a technical specialist drafting and prosecuting over 30 U.S. patent applications in AI, semiconductors, and medical devices. That experience taught me to think like a scientist and to respect the depth of work that researchers put into advancing their fields.
I then moved into patent litigation, spending years at AmLaw firms handling patent infringement and invalidity disputes in federal court. I also served on the in-house patent litigation team at one of the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturers, where I saw firsthand how companies build, enforce, and defend their patent portfolios. That litigation experience changed how I think about every filing I touch. I learned how patents get attacked, how claims get construed, and what separates IP that holds up under pressure from IP that doesn’t.
I founded Lumin Bridge Law to focus on what I find most meaningful: helping professionals navigate the U.S. immigration system and protect their innovations. I know the uncertainty of starting over in a new country. That is why I take the time to understand each client’s research, career, and goals, and why I treat every petition and every filing as if it were my own story on the line.
I lecture regularly to university and professional audiences on intellectual property, innovation policy, and career strategy for international professionals. In 2022, I founded the IP Talent Scholarship at National Tsing Hua University to support aspiring IP professionals pursuing law and technology.
